Smeared & Smudged

Hi

Hope you are all having a fantastic Mothers Day. Today I have to share with you a Shadow Box I have made for the Guest Designer Challenge at Smeared and Smudged. http://smearedandsmudged.ning.com/group/thechallenger/forum/topics/my-march-challenge This month the guest is Kathi and she challenged us to do Green Steampunk using upcycled items and to Steampunk Critters/Insects. In my Shadow Box I have used recycled coke cans, string, hand made flowers, metal charms, metal beads and cogs.  The frame I altered was a picture frame bought from a charity shop which I painted green. I made the shelves's out of cardboard and covered with paper with cogs on. I glued cogs onto a spider, fly and 2 beetles. I glued various charms and beads around the edge  and inside the box. I then stamped the male image onto card coloured with promarkers and cut him out and glued inside the box. With the coke cans I first sanded the inside slightly then stamped some steampunk wings, flying machine and a compass. These were then glued into place. Hope you like it see you soon.

Delicious Doodles & ForeverNight

Hi All

I have two projects for you today both DT pieces. The one above is for Delicious Doodles. Our theme today is "The Wonder of Life"  = It is nearly spring so it will be something to look forward to. The image I have used  is called "Mothers Love" from Delicious Doodles. I coloured with promarkers placed onto brown card and then onto a beige card base, which I edged with a blue promarker. I did not think that I needed anything else as I did not want to take away from the image. So come on over and join in with us.

My second project is for ForeverNight our theme is to "Add Bling" the sponsor is Tickled Pink I decided to work with the Tickled Pink image "Haunts Witch Lylah. She is coloured with promarkers. I edged the image card with brown promarkers then placed it onto beige card which I hole punched in the corners and distressed with brown ink this was then placed onto brown card then onto a beige card base. I added Gems for my bling. So get out your bling and come and join us.

Smeared & Smudged Member Blog Hop

Hi

Welcome to the March Member Blog Hop at Smeared & Smudged. The theme this month is "Mixed-Media Mash Up". I decided to alter a coffin. The theme for my coffin is from "Edgar Allen Poe's" - "Premature Burial". I first painted the coffin with brown paint (2 coats). I then made some templates for the inside of the coffin. I took strips of white cotton material and using the background mesh stamp from Smeared Ink's Quoth the Raven, I stamped all over the material, I then used this to cover the templates and then glued them into place inside the coffin. I made a small pillow from the same material. The hand rails and pole holding the bell were made from bamboo skewers cut to size and coloured with a gold promarker. I made the ends of the handrails smaller with a craft knive and then stuck on gold beads. These were glued onto the coffin using a glue gun. The bell was attached with string. I then placed my man into the coffin sitting up and tied the other end of the string to his hand. The coffin lid was glued open using the glue gun. Dragon Dreams

Hi All

Today I have a tag for you that I made for the challenge at Dragon Dreams http://dragon-dragonsdream.blogspot.com/ the theme this week is "Alice in Wonderland". My background image was downloaded from the internet. The stamped images, ( the 3 Alice's, Cat and the Rabbit) are coloured with promarkers. I edged the tag with blue promarker.  I added a piece of string to finish.

Hi All

This is my DT piece for ForeverNight.  http://forevernightchallenges.blogspot.com/ .
Our sponser this week is Sassy Studio, and the theme is "Pirates". I printed mt image onto paper and coloured with promarkers. The chest was coloured with Alcohol Ink applied with a sponge. The map and flag were downloaded from the internet. I added some pearls, gem stones and gold nuggets. Hope you like it.

Delicious Doodles

Hi All

Today my project is for my DT piece at Delicious Doodles . http://deliciousdoodleschallenge.blogspot.com/ Our theme this  week is "Music to Smooth the Soul". I used the Poppy image from Delicious Doodles. I coloured the poppy with pro-markers then inked around the edge of the card. I printed the song from the internet it is called "Poppies" and also inked around the edges I mounted onto brown card and finished off with a black lace peeloff. Quoth the Raven

Hi All

Sorry I have not been about much I have no internet at home until the 8th March so am only on when at work. Today I have my project for the challenge at Quoth the Raven  http://poequoththeraven.blogspot.com/  who's theme is " Black Cat ". I decided to alter a tin and to make a fat book to go into it. All the background papers are from Crafty Chaos the cat image on the tin is from Ike's the wall effect around the cat I hand drew and coloured with promarkers. I downloaded some images and the Black Cat from the internet to use in the fat book. I also stamped a cat onto some of the pages. The edges of the fat book were distressed with ink. I coloured 2 silver cat charms with black promarker to use on the tin. I enjoyed making this project and am pleased with it I hope you like it as well.
